Carisoprodol is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant used alongside rest and physical therapy for the relief of discomfort from acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions.

Usually prescribed three times daily and at bedtime, for a maximum of two to three weeks. Do not drive until you know how it affects you.

Common: drowsiness, dizziness, headache. Stop and call your prescriber if you develop a rash, fever, or unusual weakness.

Sedating — do not combine with alcohol or other CNS depressants. Withdrawal can occur after prolonged use. Not recommended beyond three weeks.
